More than 120 community members and dignitaries joined the City of Santa Clarita and Newhall Land yesterday for the grand opening of the City’s 30th park: River Village Park.
The new park encompasses 25 acres of open space in the new River Village community, including a five-acre developed park site with a themed play area, group picnic shelters, perimeter walkway and restrooms.
The park also features a trailhead connecting to Central Park via the Santa Clara River Trail. The trailhead includes a bike rack, drinking fountain and map to help residents access convenient connections to the City’s network of hiking and biking trails.
